Is a great thing, if you are physically and mentally still up for it. I am trialling a phased retirement and am now down to working 3 days a week. I can draw my pension and don’t need to earn a full salary. I enjoy my work, the interactions with my colleagues and the public and the fact that I have a lifetime of experience to draw upon, whatever the situation.
Also, it leaves me enough time to paint, draw, be in my little city garden, and spend more time with those I love. I don’t think we should just chop off our working lives as though they are separate from us - unless we’re counting down the days until we are free of them!
